Global Mobile and Tablet Banking Director
Andres Wolberg-Stok heads up a global business team responsible for Citi Consumer Bankingís innovation in digital platforms and advanced customer features. He joined Citi from an international personal-finance startup and has served in a variety of digital product and strategy roles, first for Citiís Latin America businesses, then for its U.S. consumer businesses, and, since 2012, globally.
Prior to heading the global Emerging Platforms and Services group, Andres was Citiís first global product head for Mobile Banking, leading the business team responsible for Citiís Consumer mobile and tablet banking offerings in the U.S. and around the world. Most recently, Andres led the teams that designed and built Citiís latest Global Mobile App, launched in the United States in February 2014. He invented Citi Mobileģ Snapshot, a breakout feature launched in 2014 which allows customers to access balances and recent transactions without having to type in a password every time. He is a frequent speaker on Citiīs behalf at domestic and international conferences focusing on digital across industries as well as in the financial services industry.
In earlier roles at Citi Consumer Banking, Andres was the U.S. strategy head for Mobile and Emerging Technologies; overall U.S. digital strategy head for the Retail Bank; a product manager for Citibank Online; and the business owner of all Citi digital properties in Latin America, across all lines of business from Corporate to Consumer.
Andres studied engineering in Argentina and holds an MA in Communications from Leicester University (UK). Before becoming a banker, he was a foreign correspondent and international news executive. He hobnobbed with heads of state and ministers; had tea with mass-murderer military dictators; was driven, blindfolded and at gunpoint, around the capital of Paraguay after midnight; and rode in a car at 120 mph along a minefield in Croatia. He finds most days in banking very manageable.
