Believing payment cards are better when usable right away, Pinnacle Bank has deployed a tech product from Dynamic Card Solutions that allows for instant issuance of unembossed debit cards. It was part of an active week for expedited card customization deals, as TSYS in a separate transaction entered into a partnership with Serverside to advance card customization.
Pinnacle will be able to offer unembossed instant issue debit cards at its 35 offices in middle Tennessee and the Knoxville area. The unembossed cards work like other debit cards, but are created with a flat card issuance technology that makes the card information easier to read. It also requires merchants to electronically process transactions using the magnetic strip, which is aimed at reducing card fraud. The debit cards are issued in a few minutes, rather than the traditional mailing period of about 10 days.
DCS’ software transfers personalization data fully encrypted to an FCP 20/20 unembossed card printer, which prints high-definition color onto both sides of white blank card stock. “There are no preprinted images on the plastic. You can personalize the card product, and can issue from one card stock on demand,” says Ron Zanotti, an svp at DCS.
Meanwhile, TSYS entered into a partnership with Serverside Group to launch the TSYS Card Shop, a digital card fulfillment and marketing program mixing manufacturing processes with card management and customization.
This combination enables financial institutions to design and manufacture cards on demand, removing the need to stock pre-manufactured cards. Cards are only created when the cardholder makes a request, regardless of batch size.
