Mobile malware is inherently different from traditional malware. Handsets and tablets are exposed to new threat vectors, such as location-based threats. And people treat mobile devices as social devices rather than computers, resulting in laxer security attitudes. With the “bring your own device” movement and the surge in m-commerce, coupled with the sky-rocketing market penetration of mobile computing, mobile devices are very desirable targets. This talk explains the need for a new protection paradigm, and describes how to achieve it.
