One million small businesses are started every year growing to an estimated 33 million by 2020. Americans aged 55 to 64 form small businesses at the highest rate. Female ownership is growing faster than the average and immigrants are the fastest growing segment. Technology is changing how they engage - 72 percent use mobile apps in their operations, 43 percent generate more leads from Facebook than their website and there are 81.3 million worldwide mobile payment users. Online banking usage has doubled for this segment over the last five years and yet only 12 percent consider it as a primary method for managing their finances. Most small businesses do not believe their financial institution really cares about their problems.
