OPENING KEYNOTE ADDRESS: REFLECTIONS AND PROJECTIONS – A SMALL BUSINESS ECONOMIST’S VIEW

William C. Dunkelberg, Chief Economist, NATIONAL FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT BUSINESS

Economist, bank entrepreneur, small business advocate, and independent business expert William Dunkelberg, Chief Economist at the National Federation of Independent Businesses, returns with disarming humor, political commentary,  and sharp insights to share his view of  the macro economy;  trends in small business optimism, confidence, employment, profitability, investment appetite, and demand for credit; and  likely scenarios for the near term. In addition, he will address likely implications of stalemate in Washington, a national trend toward increased regulation and taxes, evolving health care legislation, and three years of economic recovery in which larger businesses have done well while the small business economy is stalled.
