Insider Accounts of the Financial Crisis

Many financial A-listers have either written books about the financial crisis or are working on them. Among the most recent to announce: Timothy Geithner, who stepped down as Treasury Secretary in January. Following are some notable examples of those taking a crack at writing first drafts of financial crisis history. (Image: Fotolia)

You have neglected to include John Allison's book, "The Financial Crisis and the Free Market Cure," which is a curious oversight, since this paper gave it a lot of attention when the book came out. Allison was inside the industry leading up to and into the meltdown, and he saw administration and regulatory policies from the receiving end.

And I wonder about including Senator Warren as an "insider". She was not in a government policymaking role at any point, neither was she a leader at a financial institution. If she were to be included as an informed observer, then you should also include Peter Wallison, and his book "Bad History: Worse Policy", and Bill Isaac's book, "Senseless Panic."
