On marketplace lenders using alternatives to traditional credit scores:

"It's sad that so many businesses still latch on to the inaccurate and outdated FICO score as their standard. Worst still is how the personal credit file at the three bureaus has become a catch-all dossier on an individual instead of its designated purpose of reviewing one's payment history. Credit scores need to be abolished and laws need to be enacted to limit the use of credit reports strictly to reviewing one's history of paying their obligations to determine creditworthiness."

On lending to local breweries:

"The banking and brewing have some interesting parallels — including the domination by the mega-huge players and in that local smaller craft breweries market much like local community banks: Local roots, high touch customer experience, 'we are your local brand' etc. Now if only people liked banking as much as beer, community banks would be set for years."
