A Thrift in Georgia Gets State Charter

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - Home Federal Savings Bank of Georgia converted to a state commercial bank charter and adopted a new name.

HomeTrust Bank of Georgia, as it is now known, has $320 million in assets and $23 million in capital. As part of the conversion, the bank said, it will increase its loan-loss reserve by $395,000 to conform to bank practices.
