Security Unit Lauded as Model Employer
Security Pacific Bancorporation Northwest, the Seattle unit of Security Pacific Corp., has received the first "Power of Diversity" award of excellence from Financial Women International.
Given at the association's national conference in Washington, the award signified the company's achievement in encouraging and managing a culturally diverse workplace.
Patricia Badal Wyskocil, 1990-91 president of the women's association, called Security Pacific "a model for the financial industry . . . through numerous programs designed to encourage and value diversity."
Tom Porter, vice chairman of the Seattle company, said in accepting the award: "Diversity includes not just gender and ethnic differences, but also religious and other perceived differences."
