Visa opens Milan office.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Visa International said it has opened an office in Milan to serve the card association's seven member financial institutions in Italy.

Visa said the move reflects Italy's growing importance to the international payment card business. Visa said its sales volume in Italy rose 79% in the past year. It said 3.4 million cards are outstanding.
