Kenny to Head Champion Federal

Donald J. Kenney, senior vice president of First of America Bank Corp. and president of its services division, will become president and chief executive of Champion Federal Savings and Loan Association at yearend, when the companies are to merge.

Craig Hart will relinquish those posts and assume the chairmanship of $2.3 billion-asset Champion Federal. Stanley R. Ommen will continue as executive vice president and become chief operating officer.

William Sulaski, Champion's chairman for the past two years, will continue as a director.

Mr. Hart said he asked for the change in his position earlier this year, during initial merger discussions with First of America. "I am looking forward to taking this step away from active management," he said.

Champion Federal is based in Bloomington, Ill. First of America is based in Kalamazoo, Mich.
