Terry Wins Presidency Of Carolina First Bank
James W. Terry Jr. has been elected president of Carolina First Bank, Greenville, S.C.
Mr. Terry, who joined the bank in June, is a native of Rockingham, N.C., and a graduate of the University of North Carolina.
He began his banking career in 1970 with First Union Corp. in Wilmington, N.C. He was most recently senior vice president, western regional executive, for First Union National Bank of South Carolina.
Mack I. Whittle Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Carolina First, said Mr. Terry's experience will be valuable as the bank "takes advantage of the many growth opportunities that are available in our current banking environment."
