PSA to appoint Marianna Maffucci general counsel.

Public Securities Association announced yesterday that Marianna Maffucci will replace Frances Bermanzohn as general counsel.

Ms. Maffucci will be acting general counsel after Ms. Bermanzohn leaves to join Goldman, Sachs & Co. next month. Her official appointment will be confirmed at the next Executive Committee meeting, scheduled for Jan. 24, 1992.

Ms. Maffucci graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Fordham University in 1978 and receive her law degree from Fordham Law School in 1983. Before joining the PSA, she was an associate at the New York City law firm of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Clark.

Before that she was an associate at Hawkins, Delafield & Wood, also in New York City. Ms. Maffucci, who joined the PSA in 1988 as the assistant general counsel, still holds that position as well as being a vice president.

Caroline Benn, a spokeswoman for the PSA, said Ms. Maffucci was the most qualified candidate considered. Her tenure as assistant general counsel was a leading factor to her appointment.

The PSA is an international trade association made up of banks and brokerage firms. It deals in municipal securities, U.S. government securities, and money market interests.
