GNW's Thrift Unit Switches to Bank Charter

BREMERTON, Wash. - GNW Financial Corp. said its thrift subsidiary, Great Northwest Federal Savings and Loan Association, has converted into a state-chartered savings bank.

The institution, with $666 million in assets, changed its name to Great Northwest Bank.
