Goal Buys Training-Software Firm

Goal Systems International Inc. announced this week the acquisition of a company that will add a PC-based training system to Goal's product line.

Goal Systems, based in Columbus, Ohio, bought Teaching by Computer Inc. for an estimated $1 million.

The personal computer product will enable banks and others to produce training courses for their employees, the company said.

It said its mainframe training product, Phoenix, is already used by many financial institutions, including Chemical Banking Corp., New York; C&S/Sovran Corp., Richmond, Va.; and Huntington Bancshares Inc. in Columbus.
