Thomson Reorganizes Asset-Backed Services

NEW YORK -- The Thomson Corp., parent of American Banker and The Bond Buyer, said it has created an asset-backed securities group under the leadership of Richard C. Trepp, chief executive officer, and Joseph Melillo, chief operating officer.

The group brings together several units of Thomson that provide information services on securities backed by mortgage and other assets. These include Trepp Pricing Services Inc., Trepp Information Services Inc., Bond Buyer MBS Disclosure Services, Bond Buyer MBS Pricing Services, and Almont Analytical.

Mr. Trepp, founder of the Trepp companies, is an authority on structured financings. Mr. Melillo is a former vice president at the Bank of New York and Salomon Brothers Inc.
