Associates Names Hughes Its President, CEO
DALLAS - Keith W. Hughes has been elected president and chief operating officer of Associates Corporation of North America, the Dallas-based finance company affiliated with Ford Motor Co.
Mr. Hughes, 45, a former California banker, had been vice chairman of consumer financial services since 1988. He will continue to report to Reece A. Overcash Jr., chairman and chief executive officer.
Joseph M. McQuillan, a senior executive vice president, was elevated to Mr. Hughes' vice chairmanship. He is now responsible for all consumer services including personal and real-estate-secured lending and credit cards.
Harold D. Marshall will continue as vice chairman of the Associates, with responsibility for commercial finance and leasing operations. He will assume additional responsibilities for insurance operations. Both Mr. Marshall, 55, and Mr. McQuillan, 59, report to Mr. Hughes.
