Peters Is Named CEO at National Community

James Peters has been elected vice chairman and chief operating officer of National Community Banks Inc., Maywood, N.J., a $4 billion-asset bank holding company with 113 branches throughout New Jersey.

Mr. Peters has been with NCB since 1961 and was appointed to the board of directors in November 1988. He is responsible for the bank's lending activities, statewide branch system, and asset/ liability management strategies.

As one of the bank's main spokesman, he has lectured throughout New Jersey on the economy and bank deregulation

Mr. Peters holds a master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
