Morgan Plays Santa To N.Y.C. Schools

Who said corporate philanthropy is dead?

J.P. Morgan & Co. is forgoing a yearend holiday party this year and donating its $200,000 party fund for use at New York City schools.

The money is earmarked for 10 schools involved in the school system's Project Oasis and for the Department of Youth's Project Beacons.

Project Oasis promotes community involvement to renovate schoolyards throughout the city. Project Beacons aims to create school-based community centers in neighborhoods where drug use and crime are high.
