Top Executives Quit Great American

SAN DIEGO - Great American Bank, which was seized by thrift regulators on Aug. 9, said two top officers resigned Friday.

Robert L. Kemper, chairman and chief executive officer, and F. Anthony Kurtz, executive vice president and chief financial officer, will take jobs at another thrift institution later this month. Great American would not disclose its name.

Mr. Kemper and Mr. Kurtz, both veteran bankers, joined the San Diego thrift last year to attempt a turnaround.
