ATM Pact: Honor, NYCE Customers Will Have Use of Both Big Networks
Southeast Switch Inc., which operates the Honor automated teller machine network, and the New York Switch Corp., which runs the NYCE ATM network, agreed this week to allow their customers reciprocal access.
The pact links two of the largest networks in the country. NYCE, based in Hackensack, N.J., ranks third in transactions; Honor, based in Maitland, Fla., ranks fourth. Mac, based in Philadelphia, and Star System, in San Diego, process more.
NYCE and Honor already have reciprocal-access pacts with the ninth-ranked Pulse network, based in Houston.
Honor operates in 11 southeastern states. NYCE operates in 24 northeastern states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
The companies said the arrangement would give Honor's 15 million cardholders access to more than 9,600 NYCE ATMs, and the 17 million cardholders of NYCE will have access to Honor's 7,800 ATMs.
