Environmental Data and Toxicheck Merge
Environmental Data Resources Inc. and Toxicheck merged on Friday, combining an extensive data base of government records on environmental liability with a computerized mapping service.
Environmental Data, based in Southport, Conn., and Toxicheck check of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., help banks learn whether a loan or foreclosure could entail liability for environmental cleanup costs.
As the companies merged, Information Partners, a Boston-based-venture capital company in which Dun & Bradstreet Enterprises is a principal partner, announced that it had made a "significant" equity investment in Environmental Data.
The merged companies will do business under Environmental Data's corporate name and market services under the Toxicheck trademark.
