First Fidelity Unit Taps Gerald Pacella

Gerald R. Pacella has become president and chief operating officer of First Fidelity Bank of South Jersey, Burlington, a subsidiary of First Fidelity Bancorp., Lawrenceville, N.J.

He succeeds John V. Petrycki -- who was also chief executive officer of the Burlington bank -- in the position of president.

Mr. Pacella is an executive vice president and a 23-year veteran of Fidelity Bank, a First Fidelity affiliate bank based in Philadelphia.

Previously, Mr. Pacella had been executive vice president and head of Fidelity's community banking department, with responsibility for the branch system, the community business banking group -- which provides lending and other services for small businesses -- and the private banking group.

He joined Fidelity in 1968 as a branch management trainee.

Mr. Pacella is chairman of the executive committee of the Delaware Valley Mortgage Plan and a member of the Bank Administration Institute Retail Financial Services Commission.
