Talaris offers check-image printer.

CHICAGO - Talaris Systems Inc. this week announced a new high-speed printer designed to help community banks produce check image statements.

The printer is designed to handle a wide range of document printing, including production of account statements with laser-printed copies of canceled checks.

Produces 17 Pages a Minute

Officials from San Diego-based Talaris said the new print station, known as the 1794, can be connected simultaneously to six kinds of computer host. In addition, it understands nine printing languages and can produce documents at a speed of about 17 pages per minute.

The printer costs about $5,500. Talaris also offers higher speed printers, such as a 50-page-per-minute model now used by Barnett Banks Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., for financial reporting.
