Lincoln Savings in Pa. ends merger talks.

PITTSBURGH - Lincoln Savings Bank said it had terminated negotiations to acquire Northside Bank.

Under a previously announced letter of intent, the two Pittsburgh institutions were to merge into a new company, with Northside holders receiving one share and Lincoln holders 1.67 shares for each share held.

Lincoln said the two banks failed to reach agreement on proposed changes to the share-exchange ratios.
