Broaddus to succeed Black at Richmond Fed.

NEW YORK -- The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond said J. Alfred Broaddus Jr. will succeed Robert Black as president on Jan. 1.

Mr. Black is stepping down at the mandatory retirement age of 65, after 36 years at the bank.

Mr. Broaddus, an economist who joined the Richmond bank in 1970, is currently senior vice president and director of research.
