Terry Troupe, vice chairman, quits Meridian.

Meridian Bancorp said Terry L. Troupe, vice chairman responsible for the company's financial services group of non-banking subsidiaries, is resigning, effective Jan. 1, to pursue a post in the financial field.

The company, based in Reading, Pa., said that until Mr. Troupe is replaced, the business units of the financial services group will report to the office of the chairman, which consists of Meridian's chairman, its president, and its chief financial officer.

He became chief financial officer in 1981 and was named vice chairman in 1985, retaining his CFO title. He assumed responsibility for the financial services group in 1989.
