Home Savings hires B of A tech exec.

LOS ANGELES -- William L. Chenevich, former president of Security Pacific Automation Co., has joined Home Savings of America as executive vice president and director of management information services.

The 48-year-old executive is stepping into a new position previously handled by two senior vice presidents at the nation's largest thrift, a unit of H.F. Ahmanson Co., Los Angeles.

In the merger with Bank-America Corp., Mr. Chenevich was named an executive vice president heading technology and telecommunications functions.

He reported to executive vice president Martin Stein.

Defections Spreading

Mr. Chenevich is part of a growing group of Security Pacific executives tapped for jobs at Bank of America who subsequently decided to leave.

He could not be reached for comment.

Mr. Chenevich had been president of Security Pacific's automation arm for 10 years.

In that post, he was responsible for all the technology and operations activities at the bank.

Before that, he was with Citicorp.
