NEW York - Wachovia Corp. of Winston-Salem, N.C., said it intends to redeem on March 4 all its floating-rate subordinated capital notes due August 1996 at 100%,of the face amount plus accrued interest
Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. of New York will be the paying agent.
Wachovia recently sold a $250 million issue of subordinated debt.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.
