WASHINGTON - The Resolution Trust Corp. said it has completed the sale of a nonperforming commercial loan of the failed Ensign Federal Savings Bank, New York, for $311,500.
The loan, backed by the historic Renaissance Ballroom in Harlem, was purchased by Renaissance Complex Redevelopment Corp.
The ballroom, a jazz and blues club in the 1920s and 1930s, was more recently a banquet hall.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.
