Simmons First hires Rambin for new post.

Simmons First National Corp., Pine Bluff, Ark., has hired H. Glenn Rambin for the new post of senior executive vice president at its lead bank.

The company said the appointment is a key step in a reorganization designed to accelerate expansion throughout Arkansas.

Mr. Rambin, president and chief executive officer of Exchange Bank and Trust Co., El Dorado, Ark., is to join Simmons First National Bank on July 1. He will also be named to the bank's board.

The bank's retail, commercial, and operations division will report to Mr. Rambin.

Craig Hunt, an executive vice president, will head the new retail banking division. Mr. Hunt has been in charge of the agri-business and correspondent bank divisions.

Gene Thomason, manager of the commercial banking division, will add them to his responsibilities. He is also an executive vice president.

George Walker, executive vice president and cashier, will head the operations division, which includes data processing. He has been in charge of the consumer service division.

At the holding company, Harry L. Crow, James L. Powell, and Robert E. Carpenter will fill three new positions.

Mr. Crow has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Powell who becomes senior vice president for special services, which include auditing, loan review, and loan compliance. Mr. Carpenter will be vice president for human resources and training.

The reorganization also will increase responsibilities for Robert C. Dill, executive vice president and division manager for marketing; and John L. Rush, executive vice president and division manager for trust services.
