Swedish bank places a loan issue in U.S.

STOCKHOLM - Svenska Handelsbanken, the third-largest bank in Sweden, said it issued a 12-year, $400 million subordinated loan in the U.S. market.

The issue has a coupon of 8.35% and was placed with a group of institutional investors with Merrill Lynch as lead manager along with Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley.
