G. Thomas Bowers has been appointed president, chief executive officer, and a director of Citizens Savings Bank and its parent company, Ithaca Bancorp, Ithaca, N.Y.
Mr. Bowers joins Citizens from Columbia Banking Federal Savings and Loan Association, Rochester.
He began his banking career at Security New York State Corp. in 1969. In 1975, he joined Monroe Savings, Rochester, where he rose to the position of group senior vice president. In 1987, he moved to Columbia Banking as senior vice president for retail banking.
He later became executive vice president of that company, and in April 1991 he became president, chief executive officer, and a director.
