Leaders of the New York State Senate and Assembly yesterday confirmed they will meet Thursday with Gov. Mario M. Cuomo in Albany to resolve a number of items lawmakers failed to act on before the close of the 1992 legislative session.
Spokesmen for Assembly Speaker Saul Weprin, D-Queens, and Senate Majority Leader Ralph J. Marino, R-Muttontown, said the two will meet with the governor to discuss the unfinished items.
The legislative session ended July 3 with several key bonding bills unresolved, including deficit-bonding plans for Nassau and Suffolk counties, a proposal by Mr. Cuomo to issue $800 million in job-creation bonds, and the renewal of New York City's negotiated sale authority. Officials from both sides have reported progress in talks over the first two of those items.
Mr. Cuomo first announced he would call the meeting on Sunday night, during a party for the New York State delegation at the Democratic National Convention.
