William L. Gibbs is the newly elected president of the Citizens Trust Bank, Atlanta.
He will succeed I. Owen Funderburg, who has served in the post for 17 years. Mr. Funderburg is retiring at the end of this year.
Mr. Gibbs comes to Citizens Trust with over 20 years of banking experience. Since 1983, he has served as vice president and manager in various top-level positions at Bank South in Atlanta, recently as senior vice president/manager of the commercial banking division.
Formerly, Mr. Gibbs was a vice president and corporate loan officer at American Fletcher National bank in Indianapolis, and for two years was associate director of the commercial lending and correspondent banking divisions of the American Bankers Association.
