Bank of Ireland unit in N.H. posts a loss.

DUBLIN -- Bank of Ireland said Bank of Ireland First Holdings Inc. and related companies in New Hampshire lost $32.4 million before taxes in the first six months of 1992.

They lost $40.5 million a year earlier.

Net operating income jumped from $18.7 million to $65.6 million, including $8 million in first-quarter securities gains. Operating costs rose to $98 million, from $59.2 million.

The loss for the second quarter, at $19.4 million, was down from a $52.5 million loss in the last quarter of 1991.
