First Data sends Nafus to Britain.

First Data Corp. announced that Ed Nafus, head of its domestic bank card processing unit, is moving to the United Kingdom to oversee the company's new European processing business.

A spokesman said that Mr. Nafus, now president of First Data Resources, Omaha, will leave this post and become chief executive of FDR Ltd., Basildon, England.

The European unit was formerly Signet Ltd. First Data acquired it in July 1991 for $235 million from Lloyds Bank PLC, Midland Bank PLC, National Westminster Bank PLC, and Royal Bank of Scotland PLC.

After the acquisition, FDR installed R.M. Scott at the British unit's helm and charged him with converting it to common, corporatewide computer systems. That job is job nearly done, a spokesman said. Mr. Scott is to return to FDR's Omaha office in 1993 and assume a senior but unspecified post.
