Florida.

Municipal Bond Investors Assurance Corp. last week donated $25,000 to aid relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Andrew in Dade County.

"As a firm dedicated to serving state and local governments, MBIA is deeply concerned about the plight of victims of Hurricane Andrew," said David H. Elliott, MBIA's president and chief executive officer. "We hope this contribution will help provide relief to the communities hardest hit by the storm."

A spokesman for the company said MBIA, which is very active in the Florida market, does not expect the hurricane to result in any defaults.
