Giant Dutch bank takes new name.

NEW YORK -- NMB Bank, the Netherlands' third-largest commercial bank, announced the change of its name to Internationale Nederlanden Bank.

The bank also identifies itself as ING Bank, part of the ING Group, a diversified financial company with $174 billion in assets at the end of 1991, as well as 50,000 employees in 45 countries.

The name change follows the 1991 merger of NMB Postbank Group and Nationale-Nederlanden Bank.
