WICHITA, Kan. -- Fourth Financial Corp. said its lead subsidiary, Back IV Kansas, completed its acquisition of Kansas. National Bank and Trust Co.
Fourth Financial issued 267,390 shares of stock to acquire all the shares of KNB Bancshares Inc., the holding company of Kansas National, which has $97 million in assets.
Kansas National is Bank IV's second acquisition in 1992. Two others -- of Southgate Bank and Mission Hills Bank -- are awaiting regulatory approval.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.
The banking-as-a-service middleware provider will be acquired by TabaPay. Other middleware providers may be forced to evolve or face the same fate.
