CALIFORNIA LEAGUE of Savings Institutions elected Mario J. Antoci, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of American Savings Bank, to be its chairman.

J. Robert Eichinger, president and chief executive officer of Hemet Federal Savings, was named vice chairman.

Mr. Antoci has been the league's vice chairman for the past year and begins his one-year term as chairman on Oct. I

He succeeds Stephen W. Prough, president and chief executive officer of Western Financial Savings Bank, Irvine.

Directors elected for three- year terms were Roger L. Gordon, president and chief executive officer of San Francisco Federal Savings; D. Tad Lowrey, president and chief executive officer of CenFed Bank, Pasadena; and J.L. Thomas, president and chief executive officer of Quaker City Federal Savings, Whittier.
