S&P maintains watch on Swedish banks.

NEW YORK - Standard & Poor's Corp. said the ratings of 13 Swedish financial institutions remain on its Creditwatch list, with negative implications, despite Sweden's declared intention of stengthening its banking system. S&P listed the institutions on Sept. 17. On Sept. 24, the Ministry of Finance announced that this autumn it would ask parliament to authorize measures to strengthen the system.

When details of the package are available, "S&P win review its impact on all Swedish financial institution ratings," the company said.
