Fund established to invest in Romania.

Riding a new surge of interest in Eastern Europe, the New York law firm of Hall, Dickler, Lawler Kent & Friedman has set up an investment fund for Romania.

The Delaware registered limited partnership, Romania Investment Fund L.P., seeks to raise up to $2 million for investment in Romanian businesses.

Investment will be open to institutions, certain clients, and other qualified persons. The fund will be managed from Bucharest.

Direct foreign investment in Romania doubled last year to $269 million, the firm said.
