The Student Loan Marketing Association will upgrade its call center by installing a new system from International Telesystems Corp. to support collection efforts. The upgraded System 7000 predictive dialer, with 10 to 38 workstations at each of Sallie Mae's seven call centers, will allow the association to expand operator capacity and decrease the time it takes to transfer data by 50% to 75%. The system replaces a previous version by International Telesystems, which has headquarters in Herndon, Va.
