Chevy Chase bank in ATM upgrade.

Chevy Chase (Md.) Federal Savings Bank upgraded its existing software for automatic teller machines to support computer generated graphics and enhance its marketing capabilities.

The $5.1 billion-asset institution supports 279 ATMs in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

Chevy Chase ATMs have three screens that rotate on a time delay until a customer activates the machine. Depending on the type of transaction selected, graphics are displayed depicting such accounts as home mortgage or car loans.

The graphic transaction system was developed by SDM International Inc., Raleigh, N.C.
