Major bank stocks slipped yet another notch on Tuesday, with California companies hardest hit.

BankAmerica Corp. had declined $1.125 in late trading, First Interstate Bancorp. was down $1.875 to $58.375, and Wells Fargo & Co. was off $1.375 to $111.50.

Meanwhile, NationsBank Corp. was off $1 to $47.75 in late trading and MBNA Corp., the credit card issuer, was down $1.75 to $33.25.
