Comerica Texas unit finishes acquisition.

HOUSTON -- Comerica Bank-Texas said it has completed its acquisition of Sugar Creek National Bank in southwest Houston.

The Sugar Creek bank has assets of $200 million, and the Texas unit of Detroit-based Comerica Inc. exceeds $3 billion.

Comerica began its expansion in the Houston market in June with the conversion of Hibernia Corp.'s Texas banks. That was followed by the acquisition of Fidelity National Bank in July. Moving to become a statewide force in the corporate middle market, Comerica Bank-Texas has 50 branches in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.
