Money market assets dipped in past week.

Assets invested in money market mutual funds dipped to $584.9 billion in the week that ended Oct. 27, the Investment Company Institute reported. Money market assets totaled $587.6 billion the prior week.

Outflows from institutional funds accounted for the decline. Institutional assets totaled $173.9 billion, a $3.4 billion drop in one week. Retail assets edged up to $389.5 billion, a $953 million gain.
