Minnesota.

The net general fund receipts totaled $1.8 billion during the first quarter of fiscal 1994, exceeding projections by 2.8%.

In a press release, the Department of Finance reported that greater than expected sales tax revenues were the primary source of the additional receipts, Fiscal 1994 began July 1.

Tom Stinson, the state's economist, said that the heavy rains and flooding that deluged parts of the state this summer have not had a major impact on the state's economy.

"We were pleased that the bad weather disruptions to the farm economy didn't affect sales taxes significantly," Stinson said. "The farm situation has not been played out completely, but to this point there has been no major impact on revenues."

Stinson said that the state does not expect large negative or positive changes in revenues for fiscal 1994 and fiscal 1995.
