Atlantic Stewardship in N.J. elects Leegwater chairman.

Arie Leegwater has been elected chairman of Atlantic Stewardship Bank, a Midland, N.J.-based community bank that tithes 10% of its pretax earning to charitable, social service, and religious organizations.

Elected vice chairman earlier this year, Mr. Leegwater succeeds the late William C. Heereman Sr. as chairman of the board of directors.

John L. Steen will succeed Mr. Leegwater in the post of vice chairman of the board.

Both Mr. Leegwater and Mr. Steen were originators of the bank and have served on its board since its inception in 1985.

Mr. Leegwater is a construction consultant and heads Arie Leegwater Associates of Midland Park.

Mr. Steen is owner and president of Steen Sales Inc. and Throwing Inc., both of which cater to the textile industry.

In another move, William M. Almroth has been elected to the bank's board of directors.

Mr. Almroth has been senior vice president for operations of Sony Music Corp. and its predecessor, CBS Records, for the past 10 years.

Also, Paul D. Heerema has been appointed to the advisory board of Atlantic Stewardship Bank. Mr. Heerema is vice president of engineering of the Heerema Co., a family owned refrigeration business.
